Today we’re thrilled to share that Elementary is joining Boomi, thedata activation company for AI.

The vision: one reliability layer for all enterprise data

Every enterprise wants to scale AI. The hard part was never the models - it’s trusting them, because AI is only ever as trustworthy as the data behind it. And that data lives far beyond the analytics stack. It’s in motion between systems, inside business applications, across databases and storage, in documents and other unstructured sources. For AI you can actually trust in production, all of it has to be reliable.

That’s the future we’re joining Boomi to build. Boomi connects and activates data across the entire enterprise, better than anyone in the world. Elementary makes that data trustworthy enough for AI to act on. Together, we become the full reliability layer for enterprise data and AI, wherever that data lives. It’s a bigger version of exactly what we set out to do, and now we have the platform, the scale, and the resources to actually execute it.

Here’s why that matters more than it ever has.

AIagents are becoming the primary data consumers

For most of the last decade, data had one job: fill a dashboard that a human would read, question, and sanity-check before anyone acted on it. If a number looked off, someone caught it. The human in the loop was the safety net, and data reliability wasn’t that central - important, unglamorous, rarely a boardroom conversation.

AI ended that era. Your data no longer only feeds a chart someone double-checks over coffee. It feeds agents that act on it: querying systems, making decisions, triggering workflows, at speed, with no one in the loop. The safety net is gone. And the moment you remove the human, the reliability of the underlying data stops being hygiene and becomes the single thing that decides whether you can trust AI to run your business at all. An agent acting on stale, wrong, or partial data doesn’t produce a bad chart. It takes a bad action, at scale, before anyone notices.

In the new world, trusted data isn’t nice to have — it’s thefoundation everything else stands on.

What we built

We started with a stubborn conviction: data teams deserved the same reliability tooling that software teams had taken for granted for years. Observability. Testing. A way to catch problems before they reached production, instead of hearing about them from a stakeholder.

So we built it, in the open. Elementary began as an open-source project in 2022, and the community did something we could never have done alone - they made it the standard. Today more than 2,000 data teams rely on Elementary, it’s downloaded over 1.1 million times a month, and a community of around 4,000 people build it with us. On top of that foundation we built Elementary Cloud and, more recently, AI agents that don’t just flag a data issue. They do data engineering tasks: investigate the root cause, write the fix, open the pull request, add tests, make optimizations.

Why Boomi, specifically

If reliable data is the foundation of the AI era, it belongs inside the infrastructure that activates data for AI .

That’s Boomi. Boomi connects and activates data for AI across more than 30,000 customers and 800+ partners. What Elementary brings is the layer that makes that data trustworthy enough to act on. The story is simple and, we think, inevitable: Boomi moves and activates your data. Elementary makes sure it can be trusted. For the first time, reliability isn’t a tool you add on the side. It’s wired into the platform the data already runs through. We get to do what we set out to do, make reliable data the default and not the exception, only now at a scale we could never have reached on our own.

What this means if you use Elementary

Nothing changes — it only gets better. The product continues, the open-source project continues, your service runs uninterrupted, and the team you know is still here. What changes is that we now have far more behind us: more engineering on the roadmap you’ve asked for, more investment in the product you depend on, and the backing of a company built to serve enterprises at scale. Our commitment to you remains the same: delivering a reliable product, excellent service, and continuing to invest in the capabilities that matter most to you. Your service will continue uninterrupted, and no action is required on your part. With Boomi behind us, we're excited to build on that commitment with even greater resources and opportunities. We'll continue to communicate openly and transparently, keeping you informed well in advance of any future changes. As always, we're here for you, and you can reach out to Maayan, Or and Stas directly with any questions.

Thank you

To our customers: you trusted a young company with something that mattered to your business, and that trust is the whole reason we’re here. To our community and contributors: you turned an open-source project into a standard. None of this exists without you. And to the Elementary team, we are endlessly proud of what we built together.

‍

We set out to make data something you can trust, in a world that needs to trust it more than ever.
We’re not finished. We’re just getting a much bigger stage.

Let’s go.
